Meet Kim
I live in Springfield, Virginia and grew up in Annandale—yes, I am a native! I met my wife Janet here and we raised a family—Brendan, Chris, and Vicky in that order. For 30 years I worked in various capacities for the World Bank, retiring in 2002 as a Senior Resource Management Specialist, otherwise known as Budget Guy. I wanted an opportunity to work more with people than with numbers, so now I help people as a real estate agent.
I’ve heard that as a profession we rank about third from the bottom in reputation, and I have run into a few less-than-competent agents so I have some sympathy with how that can happen. The licensing process focuses on the law, and while that’s important, there’s no particular emphasis on how to be a good agent. So while getting a license is not especially difficult, being a good agent takes effort, experience and ability. I have been fortunate to work with and learn from many of the best brokers and agents in Northern Virginia, and I continue to learn every day.
My philosophy about real estate is that I am here to help two parties find each other and complete a sale they both want to happen. While I am an advocate for my client, I will not use intimidation and confrontation to beat up on the other party. It’s not in anyone’s best interest for either party for the other to feel bullied or abused. Thus I strive to be a trusted advisor; a master marketer; a skillful negotiator; and an expert facilitator. My focus is first on my client’s needs, and my objective is to help my clients make good decisions.
I am pleased to have found a home with Samson Properties. Having earlier worked with a huge brokerage that charges a higher commission, and has overhead to match, I’m glad I joined Danny Samson’s team. I provide First Class service to my clients—not only refusing to cut corners, but bringing real value in as many ways as possible. For the home seller, that means you will always get my best effort and your home me will be lavishly promoted. For the buyer, it means that you will find the right home at the right price and terms.
I believe the key to providing first-class service is to give my clients the kind of guidance and support I would want my family and friends to receive. So, if you don’t mind, I plan to treat you that way.
After all, it’s good to have a friend in the business!

Good morning Kim. I am Kezia Williams mother. I was pleased to read “Meet Kim.” It appears you are the right fit for my daughter as she tries to make her first purchase. I know she is taking her time, and has certain criteria. I have been selling part-time since 1985 and a lot of the time Kezia has been by my side. I’m amazed at the prices and HOA fees for the size of the property, but I guess that’s Northern Virginia and she not afraid of the sticker shock. Thanks for being patient. We’ve talked once before and I feel you have her best interest at heart. I told her for resale value she should be looking for something with 2BD and 2BA, I would like her to have W/D inside the unit, and to be in a safe area. Thanks for including me in your news letter chain. GAIL
